Looking Ahead to 2024

Looking Ahead to 2024

As we wrap up 2023 we reflect on the joys as well as the struggles, there was so much to be thankful for. As many of you know the resort lost its main lodge in October to an electrical fire. This has been a learning curve for us all here at Hiawatha. While we have had so much love and support it is still a lot to take in and walk through.

Currently, we are waiting on the finial design work from architects and engineers (we are close). We also need the approval of the state for the plumbing plans, pool design, building structural design and various other panning, which all takes time. Once approved the steel structure package will be ordered. The variance from the county was approved to be able to the add square footage. This helps us to meet ADA code in the pool area as well as adding a stair well. The construction company that the resort has hired to help build the lodge is Hy-Tech based out of Brainerd MN. Construction will begin this winter as soon as possible.

There are many new obstacles that we are having to traverse that weren’t an issue when the old lodge was built back between 2005 and 2007. Once it became clear that we weren’t going to have the new lodge units ready intime we decided to move forward with “The Lake House”. The Jacobson’s along with a small crew are working on this is new 7 bedroom, 7.5 bathroom cabin that is located near “The Harbor House”. This cabin will help to offset some of the displaced guests for the 2024 season also add to the resort for years to come. Please know that our Hiawatha Beach guests are at the forefront of our hearts and minds as we move forward to rebuild what was lost. We look forward to seeing each and everyone of you in 2024!

With Love, Hiawatha Beach Resort & The Jacobson Family
